Hello everyone and welcome to yet another fun and exciting year of ARMA Greater Columbus chapter programming!

Like previous years, the Chapter will be its hosting meetings on the third Thursday of the Month, and each meeting will begin at 2:30pm and end at approximately 4:00pm.

Merry Beary Bears 2012: Spending Christmas in a hospital is no fun for anyone, especially if you are a child. Merry Beary Bears is The Greater Columbus Chapter of ARMA’s way of helping sick children who are in the hospital at Christmas time. For approximately 20 years we have collected new teddy bears, new baby blankets, and monetary donations for Nationwide Children’s Hospital. The teddy bears are used to keep a child company during frightening procedures, when a parent cannot be present or in some cases the very large bears are sent to the child’s school to educate classmates. You can help make the holiday season a little brighter for children by donating a new teddy bear, new baby blanket, or by giving a monetary donation to the ARMA Merry Beary Bears Program. 100% of all donations will be utilized by Nationwide Children’s Hospital to purchase items and gift cards suitable for children of various ages. Help us make a child smile this Christmas! Donations can be brought to our December 20th meeting or Click here for more information...

SUBJECT: Silent Auction and Raffle at the 57th Annual Conference and Expo - Chicago Illinois September 23 & 24 (Sunday and Monday) 202.

Dear Chapter Leader:

We invite your Chapter to be represented and participate in a very special event to support the ARMA International Educational Foundation (AIEF).  Once again, our Silent Auction will be a focal point on the Exhibit Floor at the ARMA International Conference in Chicago IL.  Please help make the auction an even bigger success this year. Attendees love it and they point with pride when they see items donated by their home chapter and region.

Please contribute at least one item to the silent auction.  Donations come from Chapters, individuals and employers.  Some chapters are represented in all categories of donors.  Popular items, drawing a lot of bid activity in the past, were unique products and crafts representing your area, jewelry, gifts for children, sports memorabilia, food & candy, gift certificates, electronic equipment, cameras, artwork, vacation time-shares, and books. Bidders often go for items that easily fit in luggage to take home from the conference or can be used for holiday gifts.  They like to bid on larger items when the item includes shipping directly to the winner at home.  Instructions for donating, pre- shiping to Chicago, and lots of useful information is included in the Silent Auction form.

Please document your donation items using the form found on the Foundation Website: www.armaedfoundation.orgContact Pam Duane mpduane@mge.com for more information.  The deadline for the form and items shipped in advance of the conference is September 15th.

Your chapter president (contact Deb Voronkov @ Deborah.Voronkov@emerson.com) received raffle tickets for sale to your members and friends at regional leadership meetings.  If more raffle tickets are needed, please contact the Foundation Administrator. The first drawing will be on September 24th, then September 25th for the IPads©.  Raffle tickets not drawn and all  tickets sold after the conference go into the big drawing in May 2013 for either a Free Registration for the Las Vegas Conference in 2013 or free registration in the Essentials of GARP certificate program.

Please contact me if you have questions or need help.

With sincere thanks,

Preston W Shimer, FAI
